OUR PROGRAMS

At Terri’s Little Pumpkins, we offer specialized programs for children six weeks – 10.9 years of age.  Younger children grow through the process of discovery and play in an environment that fosters individuality and creativity. Older children have opportunities for physical, social, intellectual and emotional support.  A variety of activities are offered including games, arts and crafts, homework time and free choice activities.

Our care givers are very special people who play a very important role in caring for your baby. Our infant room staff offers a wonderful environment for your baby to learn and grow. Basic needs such as feeding and changing are a minimal part of your baby's day here.

Your child will be nurtured, rocked, talked to and given opportunities to learn through many activities. Your child will enjoy music, singing, conversation and age appropriate toys to play with. Our infant room ensures a clean and safe environment for your baby each and every day.

The program for toddlers is carefully planned to meet the needs of children who are coming together in groups for the first time. Our primary goal is to provide developmentally appropriate activities which include encouraging language development, providing opportunities for parallel play and helping children begin to socialize.

Large and small muscle activities are planned within a safe and warm environment where children can "practice" being independent. Toilet training (according to parent instructions) and other self-help skills are an important part of the daily program. Our toddlers have opportunities to participate in painting, scribbling, "reading" stories, singing and dancing, dressing up, exploring with sand and water, and moving. All of our toddler activities are designed for smaller hands and shorter attention spans.

This program is based on the developmental needs of our preschool aged children. We plan activities that will allow your child to meet with success. When children feel good about their abilities, they feel good about themselves.

Our main goal is to direct the child's natural enthusiasm towards learning, in an environment that is both structured and unstructured, with group and individual settings while continuing to maintain the fun of the early years.

Our program will change from day to day, month to month, year to year and often minute to minute in order to meet the individual needs of our children. The preschool program will meet the needs of the individual child, while introducing some basic educational concepts for learning, such as recognizing alphabet letters and sounds, beginning language arts, simple math, and becoming aware of the world around them through science.

For children attending part time public kindergarten, our before and after kindergarten classroom will help your child get that full day of learning taught by qualified teachers. We concentrate on areas of math, reading, science, art, and writing practices.

This program is a private kindergarten, set up to prepare children of age five for elementary school success. The progress we make here will be monitored through portfolios and assessments made throughout the year. We are working on building skills in the following categories—writing, math, science, technology, music, language enhancement and expressing individuality through art. The objective of this program is to help children work at their own pace, and develop life-long skills that will benefit their academic futures.

Chelsea

We believe that the program for school aged should be fun and provide experiences that encourage a child's physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs. Our curriculum is based on those needs and interests of the children, along with the objective of increasing social skills and building self-esteem. A variety of activities are offered including games, arts and crafts, homework time and free choice activities.

School Age Express Too! provides an intellectually stimulating, and safe environment for families looking for socialization opportunities for their children. The program incorporates choices for children and includes both structured and non-structured activities. 

· We provide services for children ages five years to 10.9 years

· The program is offered Monday-Friday 6:30 am – 6:00 pm

· A particular emphasis is placed on providing a caring, supportive and nurturing environment, with sufficient opportunity for small group and one-to-one interaction.

· School Age Express Too! concentrates on the child's growth and development.

· The Program Administrator and Staff create an encouraging environment that includes a variety of learning experiences, both indoors and outdoors, while participating with and supervising the children in those activities.

· Children are encouraged to meet their needs for individual privacy, while respecting the needs of the group. Independence is nurtured through providing choices and non-directed activities
